My First Trip to Korea - Jeju Island (Part 1)

Last winter I got a chance to visit this beautiful with my family. I went for 9 days, but the first and the last day of the trip was spent on the flight, so I only enjoyed korea for 7 days. I went to visit Jeju Island for about 3 days and the rest of the days were spent in Seoul. Such a short time to visit Seoul that have a lot of beautiful places!

The first destination was Jeju Land. After arrived in Seoul, Incheon International Airport, we have to go to Gimpo International Airport to continue our trip Jeju Island (Jeju Island is the largest island in South Korea). Jeju Island has many tourist attraction and become a popular tourist destination for South Koreans as well as visitors from other parts of East Asia.

The first destination after we arrived is a local restaurant that served the famous Ginseng Chicken Soup or known as Samgyetang (삼계탕). The chicken is cooked with ginseng, dates, garlic, glutinous rice, and various medicinal herbs so it's really one healthy chicken soup.

Reason why I love Korean Food: Free side dishes with unlimited refill!

One whole Chicken for one person. Can't believe I ate it all. LOL!!

What's inside the chicken. Forgot to take the picture since I'm too hungry so I take this one from website.

After lunch we continued our trip to Jeju Loveland Jeju Loveland is an outdoor erotic sculpture park on Jeju Island. The park is focused on a theme of sex and featuring 140 sculptures representing humans in various sexual positions. So the visitors must be 20 years old or older.

The entrance is too cute with the "love" shape covering the wall.

Didn't take many photos in this place because the sculptures is a little bit "exotic" LOL! So if you are curious of what's inside you can check them by using google.

Next destination was Dragon Head Rock or Yongduam Rock (용두암). It's called dragon head rock because of the rock in the beach resemble a Dragon Head. Legend said that a dragon stealing precious jade from Mt. Halla was shot down by an arrow from the mountain deity. When he fell down on Yongduam, his body immediately sank into the ocean and his head rapidly froze looking at the sky. From this place we can many women divers working on catching seafood in the sea.

Since it's winter, the wind was not friendly at all so I had to protect my beanie!

This part is the rock that looks like "Dragon Head"

Many people says, that you can find some of the local people sell the fresh seafood (most of the food is served raw) that they just caught from the sea around the beach. They sell it in the beach, so you won't find a fancy/indoor restaurant to enjoy it. What you need to find is just, some women sit in the beach with some baskets full of live seafood. Basically, more like markets than restaurants. But just look at the bright side! You can enjoy fresh seafood while enjoying the beach.
Too bad I didn't have a chance to taste this fresh seafood cause the tour only gave us 20 minutes in here. If some of you planning to visit this area, you should try their fresh local seafood!
